Doreen Remour Back To Kenya Lionesses Hunting Party

Mwamba RFC’s Doreen Remour  has been recalled to the Kenya Lionesses squad to Hong Kong Sevens named on Wednesday morning by head Coach Mike Shamiah.

The squad will be captained another Mwamba player Cate Abilla.

Doreen Remour, a reliable kicker and play maker, had missed out on a number of tours due to personal commitments. She replaces Laventa Ogutta as another Mwamba player Sinaida Aura misses out due to a knee injury he suatained during local league matches.

Lionesses have been invited to take part in Hong Kong as they prepare for this summer’s Rio Olympics where they were also invited to replace South Africa women who pulled out. They are pooled alongside African rivals South Africa, France, China and  Kazakhstan.

Mwamba’s Camilyne Ayuayo, Quins’ Mary Musieka and KCB’s Janet Midecha are the non-travelling subs. Of the participating teams, France, Kenya and Japan have already qualified for the Rio Summer Games in August, when Rugby will return to the Olympics for the first time since 1924.
