Eunice Olembo co-opted into club’s ExCo

Eunice Olembo has been co-opted into Stanbic Mwamba Executive Committee as a committee member effective January this year.

Ms Olembo, an ardent supporter of the club, joins the newly elected committee that assumed office in November comprising of George Mbaye as the honorary chairman, Humphrey Kayange was elected honorary secretary while Anthony Karanja retained his position as the club’s honorary treasurer.

Among other duties, Ms Olembo will be tasked with spearheading women rugby at the club and ensure that the club regains its spot as the centre of excellence for women rugby in the country.

“I am honored and humbled to be called upon to serve this great club that I hold so dear to my heart. Coming into this position I look forward to working closely with the Executive to make Mwamba Club, the club for you and me, a more player-centered club, with the well-being and welfare of our players as our priority” she told Mwambarugby.com after accepting her nomination.

Club honorary secretary termed her appointment as timely and a boost to the Committee’s goal of improving the player welfare:

“Eunice’s wealth of experience in management and law will be a timely addition to the robust ExCo dynamics. With our focus on a player-centred approach, we feel that she has what it takes to help us improve and be better on player welfare. Please join us in welcoming her on board and we look forward to her fruitful contribution,” he said.

Stanbic Mwamba lie sixth on the log in the ongoing Kenya Cup league while Mwamba Ladies  is preparing for the 2019 Kenya Rugby Union Women’s League that kicks off on February.
