Kevin Wambua picks positives from the Impala loss

Mwamba head coach Kevin Wambua has picked positives from the 12-30 loss to Resolution Health Impala Saracens in a Kenya Cup match played on Saturday evening at Impala Club.

Speaking to MwambaRugby.Com, the gaffer said that the team has been playing according to the structures in the last two matches but on Saturday things didn’t go as planned. “In our match against Kabras we held our own against bigger and better opponent  but this week we just didn’t play according to our plan. Hopefully, we shall rectify our mistakes and put in improved performance against Kenya Harlequins next weekend,” he said.

On Edwin Machanje’s injury, he revealed that it wasn’t nothing serious and scans later showed that it was soft tissue injury. “He will have to sit out for a few days to recover but nothing serious that will require further attention,” he added.

A last minute penalty gave Impala II a 17-15 win against Mwamba II  in a pulsating match at the same venue.

Mwamba RFC will make the short trip to RFUEA Grounds for the third match of the Kenya Cup against Quins.
