Kulabu Goes For The Red Lion

Mwamba RFC will be hoping to finish the regular season on a high when they take on Nondies RFC in a Kenya Cup match to be played on Saturday 16 April 2016 at Jamhuri Park.

Mwamba need a bonus point win and depending on other results they’ll be assured of a play-off spot in the hotly contested Kenya Cup league. They’re currently placed eighth with 59 points, three behind Strathmore Leos and Nakuru RFC.

Head coach Johnnie Mbai has made three changes to the starting XV that beat Leos10-5 in a pulsating match last weekend. John Mkala will start in the place of Salaton Muturi at hooker.

The impressive duo of Ken Handa and Peter Chege will miss this tie through injury and have been replaced by Okiri Moturi and Edwin Machanje respectively.

On the bench, Chris Kanyoi makes a comeback to Kenya Cup after a two-year absence due to work commitments. He’ll be joined on the reserve seat by new Joseph Wachiuri who joins the club from Nakuru RFC. Others are Shaban Ahmed, Hyke Otieno and Victor Wayodi.
