Mwamba II To Kick Off Their ESS Campaign

After several no-shows, Mwamba II will finally kick off their 2015/2016 Eric Shirley Shield campaign against Strathmore Leos II on Saturday afternoon.

Coach Johny Mbai has named a balanced squad full of youth and experienced players. Richard Quicks Nyakwaka will start off the bench. Quicks made his début for Kulabu in 1998 and has played for Impala and the national team, Kenya Simbas in a number of Test matches.

The squad will be captained by backrow Stephen Wang’ondu and will also see scrum Gerald “Muppet” Otieno return to competitive action after more than a year on the sidelines recovering from knee injury.

Youngster Jonah Mbari will start at number eight while Matt Wanjia will be controlling the pace and direction of the game at flyhalf.
