Mwamba Ladies Finish Third To Stay In Touch With Leaders

Mwamba Ladies beat Nakuru Ladies 12-5 to finish third at the third leg of Kenya Rugby Union Women’s League played at Nairobi’s RFUEA Grounds on Sunday 13 March 2016.

Mwamba had earlier lost 0-29 to eventual winners KCB Ladies in the semi-final to set up the third-place play off date with the Rift Valley-based lasses. Doreen Remour opened the scoring by splicing open the defence to touch down under the uprights before adding the extras.

Captain Priscah Mwamburi danced her way through the defence to land the second try. The conversion was missed. Nakuru had a late resurgent scoring their only try a minute to the hooter.

In the pool stages, Kulabu hit Shamas 26-0 then dismantled KU Blad Babes 31-0. They then lost 12-19 to Quins Ladies in the last game.

Mwamba are now placed third behind leaders KCB and second placed Quins with two more legs to go.
