Official Communication-Changes to Technical Bench

Stanbic Mwamba has made changes to the technical bench with long-serving Director of Rugby Edwin Waita exiting the stage.

Waita has been replaced by another club great Tito Oduk in the same capacity. Tito has been helping with the technical bench in the previous seasons but he now formally takes over as the Director of Rugby. He will be in charge of all the three squads (men, women and development). He will also oversee the team’s recruitment and player development.

Kevin Wambua remains the club’s head coach and will be assisted by Louis Kisia and former Kenya international Peter Kepha. Kisia joins the technical bench after he hung up his boots after 14 years playing for the club. He was also in charge of the club’s sevens team that finished second in the just concluded Stanbic Bank National Sevens Circuit.

Joseph Baabu remains Stanbic Mwamba Ladies head coach for the coming season.

Kepha returns to the club after spending time with Nondiescript and later with Strathmore Leos. Kepha was part of the all-conquering Stanbic Mwamba Sevens team that dominated the local scene between 2008 and 2010. He also played for Kenya Simbas. He brings to the club wealth of experience, leadership and mentorship skills.

Fahad Adil Mohammed will be the club’s overall team manager assisted by Alphonce Mwachia and Stephanie-Rose Otieno. Stephanie-Rose will also double as Stanbic Mwamba Ladies Team Manager.

Dr James Ondiege will be the club’s Team Doctor with Ben Mahinda and Levyce Kituyi being team’s physiotherapists.

Patrick Ruhiu will don the captain’s armband for the next season. His assistants and Leadership Group will be announced at a later date.
