Kulabu fired up ahead of Mombasa test
Stanbic Mwamba is set for the first Kenya Cup match of the year when they host Mombasa RFC at Railway Club on Saturday afternoon.
Head coach Kevin Wambu has made a string of changes to the team that went down 17-28 to Strathmore Leos in December last year. Daniel Taabu will start at fullback with regular Michael Agevi serving the last week of his two-week suspension. On the right wing, Marvin Odembo “Matelong” takes over from Joe “Machine” Otieno who is unavailable.
Greg Odhiambo will start at outside centre partnering with captain Brad Owako. Hyke Otieno will once again start at blind wing. Lavin Asego is back at flyhalf where he will link up with impressive Ronnie Omondi at number nine.
In the forwards, Eugene Sudi and James Yuko will be on either side of Salaton Muturi as he does his hooking duties. Paul Wahome and Steve Sikuta will be in the second row. The trio of Chris Asira, Louis Kisia and Ken Handas make up the backrow.
On the bench, Kevin Kerore, debutante Josiah Wasike and John Mkala will be called upon to reinforce the front rows. Stephen Wangondu will take his place on the bench alongside Kevin Atandi and two other debutantes, Hussein Yahya and Mike Okello.
